---- About Kindred Kidneys

We inspire and help them live better

Kindred Kidneys is a project, initiated by the Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa in the year 2019.The main objectives of this project are to increase awareness regarding Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and helping the innocent people who suffered from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). As Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has threatened hundreds of Sri Lankans. Project impact is also mainly on helping the under privileged kidney patients by financially aiding them to have free dialysis treatment and raise awareness about Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

The initial step was and awareness session to the general public on Kidney health, how to identify the disease at an early stage, symptoms and risk factors. We aimed to raise awareness that kidney ailments can be prevented and also to motivate the readers to be kidney donors for the needy. The project was also launched in Egypt, Bolivia and Mexico, helping out Kidney patients in each country by conducting awareness sessions and donating equipment for hospitals which are necessary for dialysis treatments. These projects are conducted by Rotaract Club of Alexandria Sporting, Egypt (District 2451), Rotaract Club de Kairos Xapala, México (District 4185) and Rotaract Santa Cruz D-4690, Bolivia (Distrito 4690). The club has partnered up with Samastha Lanka Kidney patients’ association to help the registered underprivileged patients in the association by raising funds monthly for their dialysis treatments

Kindred Kidneys works closely with the Samastha Lanka Kidney Patients Association (SLKPA) which is a non-profit association which is established for the welfare of kidney patients in Sri Lanka. The association is led by senior medical consultants in the field and other professionals who offer guidance to our project team in order to execute this project in a sustainable and effective manner.

Roraract Alumni Mora, marks its next footprints in extending the helping hand to Daluggala M.V. in facilitating the school’s sanitary requirements with a complete washroom built. “Kindred Kidneys ශිෂ්‍යාධාර”, a sub-project under the signature project “Kindred Kidneys” organized by Rotaract Alumni Mora, is an effort to support students of the families suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease in Sri Lanka. The project intends to award scholarships to 4 students on a monthly basis till the completion of their secondary education.
